Besides a number of bug fixes, this release offers a range of new features including:

  • Improvements to date cell detection, via isADateFormat
  • "missing record aware" HSSF event model
  • Lots of HSLF (PowerPoint) updates
  • HDGF - basic, read only support for Visio Files
